Our company is able to provide appropriate high grade supervising, technical audit and consulting along with direct solutions for each of our key activities in order to assure our Customers in the quality of work performed by external parties. At present time “NovosibirskNIPIneft” LTD has 8 main activities.




Geomechanics – the science that studies strengths, competences and deformations of rock mass and technical objects under overburden stresses (occurring naturally and artificially).

Since the inception of NovosibirskNIPIneft LTD our experts have dealt with geomechanical modeling of separate well columns and whole hydrocarbon deposits. Knowledge and experience gained through the years along with continuous improvement of software and technologies allow us to effectively carry out each stage of the project – starting from initial data acquisition and analysis up to performing of calculations and providing of recommendations. During prolonged period our specialists have been practicing in standard methods and have been developing proprietary ones for 1D, 3D, 4D geomechanical modeling including real time modeling while drilling. As a result of multidisciplinary team work our Customers have already been gaining from:
  • Prevention of auto hydro fracturing while drilling
  • Risk mitigation of well caving and drill-stem buckling
  • Increase of accuracy for forecast of hydro fracturing (geometry and production)
  • Increase of accuracy for forecast of pore pressure





The knowledge about composition, constitution and law of formation evolution allows to increase efficiencies of drilling, hydrocarbons production and deposit development.

Geological modeling is a process that consolidates data analysis and geological studies in geological model by means of advanced methods and modeling algorithms.

Geological model is an important component that is required to solve different kind of problems like hydrocarbons reserves calculations or can be used as a basis for geological-economic appraisal. Therefore, the quality of geological model is in direct connection with the quality of all further steps of the project like creation of hydrodynamical or geomechanical model.

The results of geological modeling can be presented in form of:
  • Field-geological parameters for acreage of drilling
  • Seismic cross-section
  • Detailed correlation schemes using surrounding wells
  • Structural maps of the roof of target formation and target reservoir
  • Permeability validation on project area
  • Average porosity and permeability map
  • Geological cross-sections in-line with project well along with lithology, porosity and permeability
  • Geological cross-sections in-line with trajectory of project well
  • Recommendations and statements of need for pilot well drilling





The knowledge about geological structure of deposits is fundamental for all kind of works related to geological surveys and effective production of oil, gas and gas-condensate.

Geophysics is a multidisciplinary science that studies the constitution of Earth by physical methods. Petrophysics studies different physical properties of rocks, their interrelation with physical Earth’s fields and each other. The combination of two arts provides more complete data that is required for decision making.

Many years’ experience of thorough analysis of surface geophysics data, well logging data, geological and engineering surveys as well as laboratory core studies allows us to provide effective solutions for exploration activities and hydrocarbons production.





The knowledge about geological structure of deposits is fundamental for all kind of works related to geological surveys and effective production of oil, gas and gas-condensate.

To find a solution for complicated problem of model setting it is required to have a lot of accurate geological, geophysical and wellsite data. The quality of the model directly depends on the data accuracy and on the amount of expertise provided.

High quality hydrodynamic model allows to carry out an analysis of reservoir headway, remaining hydrocarbons in place and zones of bypassed hydrocarbons. Also, it allows to optimize formation pressure maintenance, forecast production of project well and in such a way to estimate rate of return for particular well drilling and for development of the whole field.

The results of hydrodynamic modelling can be presented in form of:
  • Cross-sections of initial and current oil saturation
  • Justification of remaining hydrocarbons in place
  • Maps of initial and remaining net oil pay zones
  • Maps of current formation pressures
  • Outcomes of hydrodynamic model (fluid and oil debits, watercut, gas factor, bottom-hole pressure, cumulative oil and fluid production)
  • Justification of placement of project well and bottom-hole pressure
  • Forecast of production for project well





One of the important solutions for the problem of successful hydrocarbons production is building of appropriate physical model of the medium and correct description of all processes that take place there. Knowledge and understanding of physical and mathematical bases of hydrodynamics, hydraulics and mechanics of the formation are the key elements for modification of existing tools and creation of new ones that are used to find the solutions for different kind of problems that our Customer can deal with during production.

Our proprietary algorithms are implemented in separate software products or can be used as add-ins for existing applications of external suppliers.

Our principal directions for development of physical and mathematical apparatus and software:
  • Destruction theory and geomechanical modelling
  • Physics of the formation and hydrodynamic modelling
  • Hydraulics and through tube flow of the fluid
  • Building of economic model and optimization of hydrocarbons production enhancement





The quality of initial data is in direct dependence with the quality of final output for any kind of project. It is even more important for core studies as soon as it is complicated to collect and the amount of it is always limited.

Our company specifically focused on different aspects related to laboratory studies including equipment and methods of data processing. Within a framework of laboratory studies we provide:
  • Geomechanical properties of core samples along with porosity and permeability
  • Selection and examination of materials for drilling and production enhancement purposes
  • Development of methods and technologies for laboratory studies of rocks, chemicals and materials for drilling and production enhancement purposes
  • Real processes simulation that occur in the formation, fracture and wellbore
  • Non-standard studies for rate of return increase for drilling and production enhancement projects
